A wall clock is a clock that is attached on a wall. A clock is an instrument used to indicate time. The word clock is derived from the Celtic words <em>clagan</em> and <em>clocca</em> meaning &#8220;bell&#8221;. In today&#8217;s general usage, a &#8220;clock&#8221; refers to any device for measuring and displaying the time. The clock is one of the oldest human inventions.</p>
<p>The wall clock in the picture above is an electric clock. A Scottish clockmaker named Alexander Bain patented the electric clock in 1840. Machu Picchu is a pre-Columbian 15th-century Inca site situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru. It was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone walls. This historic site was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. And in the 2007, Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.</p>
